Feedback and error reports
SchoolCAD is in beta. Tell the team about a problem, an idea or a question, and what an anonymous error report sends (and never sends).
- Report a problem or ideaSchoolCAD
SchoolCAD is in beta: it works, and it gets better every week from what students and teachers tell us.
Report a problem or an idea#
Click Feedback in the status bar at the foot of the screen (or press ` and type feedback, bug or idea). Choose Something went wrong, An idea or A question, say what happened in your own words (or click Say it and speak), and click Send.
- Send what SchoolCAD was doing (on unless you untick it) adds the tool that was open, the browser and any recent error, which helps us find the problem quickly. It never sends your design or your name.
- Send a picture of the 3D view (off unless you tick it) adds a small picture of what is on screen.
- Email for a reply is for teachers who would like an answer. Students: leave it empty.
Your report goes to the people who make SchoolCAD, not to your teacher. If it cannot be sent (for example, the school network blocks it), SchoolCAD offers to send the same words by email to hello@schoolcad.com instead.
Anonymous error reports#
When something goes wrong that SchoolCAD did not expect, it sends a short report so we can fix it:
| Sent | Never sent |
|---|---|
| What went wrong (the error message and where in SchoolCAD's code) | Your design, your files or any picture |
| The tool or dialog that was open, and Standard or Advanced | Your name, class or anything you typed |
| The browser and system (such as Chrome 131, Windows) and whether the screen is small, medium or large | Your network address or where you are |
| The language and any accessibility settings that were on | Anything that would identify you |
Each problem is sent at most once each time you open SchoolCAD, and kept for 90 days. Feedback is kept for a year.
To turn error reports off, untick Settings → General → Send anonymous error reports. They are also never sent when your browser asks websites not to track you (Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control). See the Privacy Policy for everything SchoolCAD keeps.
